Macworld 07 Rumors
It's no secret that I am a huge fan of the 12" powerbook by apple. I was waiting for so long for them to announce a new intel one before I finally broke down and bought the 15" macbookpro. I like the 15" (I just realized I never did a review of it, probly cause my site was down thx jo) but could I return to the 12 inch form after living the good life of my current awesome laptop? Probably. Let's take a look at what I want:
Proc: Intel, semi fast.....nothing demands a super awesome processor anymore.
Ram: Upgradable to 2gb would be nice
Screen: Widescreen or not, >1024x768 would be nice
Vid Card: Capable of gaming in Windows. This is the only reason i picked mbp over mb
Hdd: My 80gb in the mbp is getting tight, would like more
CD: want one in there, thats why i got rid of the Dell L400
Design: I like the aluminum design over the mb, but at least offer it in black if not
Tablet: rumored that this could be a tablet. Depends on reviews..
So basically it comes down to how well does it game, and what does it look like? Unfortunately it has to beat my current mpb to justify the effort of selling it, which is a difficult feat. I sure like the ultra portability though. I take it everywhere. :D
Now onto other rumors. iPhone. If you've seen my phone lately you know I need a new one. I want to see what the iPhone will look like. It's supposed to be an mp3 player and phone in one and supposed to work with every provider. I am holding off until macworld to make my decision, and it's all based on design. If I don't like it I will probably get a motorala PEBL. I know the PEBL gets bad reviews due to storage space and bad camera, but my current phone is the same and I don't really care. I like the PEBL design and I just want it for a phone.
Widescreen iPod. I need a new iPod since my 3rd gen's screen stopped working. If both the iPhone and the widescreen video ipod are released and both look cool I don't know what I'll do. I'm betting only one will be released or I'll only like one. I want an 80gb at the moment but I can wait until macworld to see if a new one comes out.
With my luck, things will be announced and not ready until August or something. Until then, It'll be a long 5 weeks!
I envy you macbook users :P

A 12" MBP dosn't fit in anywhere, Unless they do the tablet version, and they wont do that since there isn't enough of a market for it. Evey mac is going widescreen, so if you have a 12" widescreen MBP, you need to make it different from the MBs. So assuming your requests are met, the 12" mbp would fall between the razor thin space between the topend MB and the lowend mbp. I HIGHLY Doubt you will see ANY new laptop announcements at MacWorld since it wouldnet fall into the product cycle (MBP And MB were just updated in November). After Centrino Duo Pro (or whatever Intel Santa Rosa is called now) is released, im sure you will see the full redesign of the entire line, and possibly that elusive 12" mbp or MBP Tablet. Iphone looks interesting, Especially if it has a good camera and good connectivity. I could do without the removable memory if it had an insane ammount of space. I really hope it comes out for all carriers, Otherwise i might be forced to swap to T-Mobile again (Im looking for a new cellphone provider, currently its Sprint, Tmobile, or Altell) The PEBL, and for that matter, just about every new generation of motorola phones have just been a rehash of the sucess of the RAZR, Heck, even the KRAZR which is pretty cool looking, is still just a glorified razr, Which isnet a bad thing, but you would think after a while they would fix some of the constant complaints about there software (Phonebook comes to mind). Widescreen Ipod, Maybe, who knows, theres too much focus on Leporard and the Iphone :D Im looking forward to lepoard myself, i want to see if they integrate parallels in with it. And you know there are features that are still under wraps :D And are you always going to put THX JO! when ever you complain about your website being down, its not like you were paying him or anything :P |
The 12" Powerbook competed against the iBook for over a year with the exact same specifications. Both had the same screens, dvd burners, g4 processors, airport extreme.. A small professional model can survive in the apple lineup as long as it's truely a professional machine. Apple could also announce a product that wouldn't be available until later. They do that all the time. I dont really care for a tablet. I dont care about a camera on the phone anymore, and I dont know if I will want my mp3 player and phone combined. They have to convince me I do :D I know the pebl is a razr but I don't like how wide the razr is, so I don't want it. And all cell software sucks, so it's a matter of finding a phone you like the most and living with it. I must be the only one who doesn't really care about leopard. I didnt care about tiger either. I use some widgets, but only for aviation weather. I don't use spotlight. I dont use automator. I dont think i would use the backup and I want the hdd space it'll use, and I can already bootcamp. I don't want OSX to get too friendly to windows or it'll go the way of OS/2 Warp. And there's nothing wrong with getting excited for macworld, even if this stuff doesn't come out. :P Yes, it's fun to blame jo. Would have been nice if he didn't just pull the plug one day. This feels like a forum war |
You know, i had a logical well thought out response, but its easier just go: Your Wrong, GG! XD And if the 12"PB competed with the ibook, where is it at now? theres no physical reason why they couldnet have done it. |
No You're Wrong! Where is it? It's here! In january! |
